Right upper lobe collapse

Unless proven otherwise, lung collapse is secondary to bronchogenic carcinoma in all elderly people, and in people with history of smoking.

Small cell lung carcinoma

Plain film: Normal

CT: Small mass in the left infrahilar region

PET-CT: hot spot in left infrahilar region

Acute exacerbation of interstitial lung disease

Typical UIP:

Now the patient presents with acute exacerbation of shortness of breath. Current CT shows diffuse ground glass opacification, suggestive of exacerbation of interstitial lung disease.

 

Right upper lobe consolidation
