Salter Harris type 5 fracture

Salter Harris type 5 fracture

1 comment:

  1. hi, I had an MRI done recently for anterior-medial knee pain (possible PFPS, miniscus or MCL). The radiologist report came back as grade 3 chondromalacia patella + condyle(s) except medial condyle side as grade 4 with "subchondral cancellous hyperintensity.", as well as grade I ACL sprain and instrasubstance tears of both miniscii which he considered likely old injuries.

However, I am not entirely satisfied that the radiology report is either correct or has been correctly interpretted by my doctors. I see what I think to be bone edema on the medial femoral condyle (perhaps this is the "hyperintensity?") but I was wondering if it might also be a type of fracture. Either way I get the feeling that if it is edema/contusion I should not be doing any stressful exercise for a few months to allow it to heal- yet my docs are suggesting 4 weeks PT/Bio rehab?

If you are interested in taking a look I have posted some images on http://mykneeproblems.blogspot.com/ (you are welcome to re-use the images on your site should you wish to make a post of it.)
    Many Thanks, Maths Fox.
